Sequoia is the first commercial high dynamic range third-order femtosecond cross-correlator. Developed by Amplitude Technologies under license from the French CEA (Atomic Energy Commisssion), Sequoia is an ideal tool for high precision measurements of the temporal pulse shape of femtosecond lasers.

Sequoia offers significant improvements over traditional autocorrelators :

  •  Pulse pedestal : Precise measurement in the ± 1 ps range gives important information on this essential parameter.
  •  Ghost pulses : The large temporal measurement range (270 ps) allows for easy measurement of unwanted pre- and post-pulses, which can be generated by dielectric coatings, birefringent optics or compression gratings.
  •  Amplified Spontaneous Emission : The ASE level is an important parameter for the characterization of the pulse. The duration of ASE is usually several orders of magnitude than the main pulse and can represent a significant fraction of the total pulse energy.

Sequoia is fully computer controlled. The user-friendly software controls the delay line between SHG and THG, the photomultiplier gain and the signal acquisition. The user can easily set the measurement range, the temporal resolution, the averaging parameters. All data are easily available and can be exported for further analysis
